Dermal fillers are an injectable, hyaluronic acid substance that is administered under the skin. The Juvederm Vycross range is hyaluronic acid (HA) based and considered some of the safest products available. Juvederm fillers break down naturally over time and are non-permanent.

Dermal fillers are administered with a needle; therefore, this involves a degree of discomfort. However, we ensure this procedure is as pain-free as possible with topical anaesthetic, effective products with lidocaine and advanced injection techniques. 

Some areas may be more sensitive than others, such as the chin, however well-tolerated. The chin can be sore and swollen post-treatment and this is quite often the case.

Due to the nature of injectable treatments, there is a possibility of some minor side effects. Side effects from dermal fillers commonly keep to the site of the injection and often only take a few days to settle. The most common side effects include:

• Tenderness

Initial results will be visible as soon as you leave the clinic, however, it will take around two weeks for the swelling to subside revealing your real results, this will improve over the next few weeks as the dermal filler integrates with your tissue to provide the full effect. The intial two-week period also allows for any light bruising or swelling from the treatment to reduce, revealing your final desired look.

Our holistic approach to full-face dermal fillers means that results can last up to two years, however we recommend 6-month maintenance appointments to ensure optimum results. 

Most hyaluronic acid dermal fillers tend to fall within the 6 to 18-month range, however, the expected longevity of your fillers will also vary from person to person. The general ‘rule of thumb’ when it comes to chin filler longevity is 12-15 months.

The exact longevity might change based on the volume of filler used, the precise areas being treated as well as the patient’s metabolism and lifestyle. However, our injectors will be happy to discuss specifics at your consultation.
