Gummy Smile
Worried about showing off too much gum when smiling? Our popular Gummy Smile treatment uses Botox injections to recover your smile and regain your confidence.
How do we treat a Gummy Smile?
A ‘gummy smile’ is often caused by hyperactive muscles in the face which pull the top lip up higher than usual when smiling, exposing the gum. For some, this can mean avoiding smiling altogether and avoiding being photographed. Luckily, there is a quick and simple solution which yields effective, natural looking results.
Utilising a personalised and strategic treatment, we can relax the overactive muscles using botulinum toxin, in the upper lip or around the mouth to lower the upper lip covering the excess gum tissue, allowing for a healthy and strong smile without showing your gums.

Frequently Asked Questions
You should start to notice results within a few days of treatment but maximum results will develop after 2 weeks. The finished outcome can be expected to last 3-4
months, with longevity naturally varying from patient to patient. We therefore recommend rebooking at least every 4-6 months for maintenance purposes.
Anti-wrinkle treatments are generally perfectly comfortable. You may feel some stinging at the point of injection but we always apply a topical Topical anaesthetic to minimise this as much as possible. If you have any concerns at all, you are very welcome to discuss these with your practitioner during consultation.
As with any injectable treatment, there is a possibility of some minor side effects. Most commonly, these may include: bruising, swelling, redness, tenderness, itching and sensitivity at the point of application. Any potential side effects will be discussed during a pre-treatment consultation.. Any swelling will typically subside within around 48 hours.
We use FDA approved injections for the treatment of gummy smile injections. This treatment has been through many studies to prove its effectiveness, and it has an excellent safety record. As with any injectable treatment, you should ensure that your practitioner is highly skilled. The treatment is a prescription only medicine, and therefore should only be administered by a Doctor, Dentist or Prescribing Nurse. It is important that you always check the credentials of your practitioner prior to treatment.
